Where we work
Ladysmith Tree Removal covers Ladysmith, Chemainus, Saltair, Cedar and Yellow Point — an area crossing four separate authorities: the Town of Ladysmith, the Municipality of North Cowichan, the Cowichan Valley Regional District, and the Regional District of Nanaimo under Bylaw No. 500. We check which authority applies to your property before we quote.
Four local regulators govern tree cutting across this short stretch of coast. A property on one side of a boundary needs a development permit for work that needs nothing on the other side, so we find out which authority applies before we give you a price.
Two properties fifteen minutes apart often require completely different permit paperwork for the same tree work. Some properties require no permit paperwork at all. Other properties require a written hazard report from an ISA Certified Arborist before cutting starts. Properties inside specific development permit zones cannot be touched until the municipality issues a permit. We sort out which is which before we quote a price, not after the job is booked. We quote every property using the same process, inspecting your site access in person before pricing.
We state in your quote which authority governs your property and what permit documentation is required. Where nothing applies, we confirm that too, in writing, so there is a record either way. A photograph is usually enough to start that check, and a site visit confirms it before we price or book anything. The visit also settles what a machine can reach and where hand work is the only option.
Areas we serve
We also reach Diamond, North Oyster, Crofton, Thetis Island and the rural roads between them.
We check every address in our service area against local rules before we quote. Request a free tree removal quote and we will identify your local governing jurisdiction in writing.
